Allseating is honored to have been a supplier for Quadrangle’s project, OCAD U CO for OCAD University which is a recipient of a 2019 ARIDO Award. Serving as a hub for design and innovation along Toronto’s waterfront, this executive training centre features Allseating’s classic product collections including: Jif; Tuck; Zip; and Inertia.

Hosted by the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario in partnership with Canadian Interiors, the ARIDO Awards annually celebrate and showcase excellence, innovation, and originality in interior design. The 33 award winners and projects were officially announced by ARIDO at the 2019 Awards Gala on October 24, 2019 in Toronto.

“It’s inspiring to see how Quadrangle envisioned our products in the all-in-one design research lab and training space, and to then watch that vision take form,” says Cindy Lawton-Moreby, Allseating’s Vice President of Sales. “It was an all-around incredible experience getting to work with Quadrangle and the OCAD team on this dynamic project.”

Quadrangle enlisted Allseating to help outfit OCAD U CO, the first off-campus outpost for OCAD University, back in 2018, when it was still known as the university’s “Business Innovation Studio.” Allseating provided seating solutions that best accommodate the centre’s new working environment, with the overall mission of encouraging professionals to embrace growth opportunities by leveraging design skills.

As background on the products used, Jif is a modern stool designed in collaboration with Canadian designer Aaron Duke that embraces simple, elementary shapes, with a subtle waterfall edge that provides relief to the hamstring. The Tuck Stacker and Tuck Stools were designed by Todd Yetman for environments where high-density stacking is needed, and serves as a compact, highly durable seating option. In addition to Jif and Tuck, the project also included Zip, a timeless and affordable conference chair that achieves both style and comfort, as well as Inertia with its breathable, flexible and lightweight mesh that perfectly adapts to any environment.

The winning project will be published in the ARIDO Awards Magazine 2019 issue.
