Award-winning architect and interior designer Lauren Rottet, FAIA, FIIDA, will be sharing her thoughts on American design and its impact on global interiors at a breakfast and book signing for her newly released Authentic Design at Rizzoli Galleria in Milan on Thursday, April 19 from 9-11 a.m. Selections from her furniture line, Rottet Collection, will be on display in the store window during Salone del Mobile, April 16 to April 22, 2018.

Authentic Design (Rizzoli) is a luxurious presentation of this celebrated American designer's work and the work of Rottet Studio over the last 15 years. The projects featured range from lavish apartments in New York and Paris to grand hotel interiors in Bogotá to Fortune 500 offices and the sleek, modern redesign of the American Embassy in Frankfurt. Throughout, the reader is aware of Lauren Rottet's talent for, as Paul Goldberger writes in the foreword, "bringing spaces alive in unexpected ways" and the wide range of styles at which she is adept.

Her furniture reflects the designer’s passion for creating environments and objects that impart kinetic energy. One of the signature pieces on display, the award-winning Dichroic Table, uses glass in unexpected ways and to beautiful effect. It features sheets with micro-layers of metal oxide that refract light into multiple hues. Driven by the goal to create a table that looks different from every angle, the design explores the relationship between light, color and reflection.
