Staying in front - and even ahead - of the workplace curve

Staying in front - and even ahead - of the workplace curve

Today’s workplace is so much more than cubicles and conference rooms. It can often be a direct link to a company’s success. To stay competitive, smart companies know they need to offer a well-designed workplace that encourages real productivity and collaboration, promotes health and happiness, and helps attract and retain top talent.

WHAT IS THE LIFE EXPECTANCY OF COMMERCIAL CARPET?

WHAT IS THE LIFE EXPECTANCY OF COMMERCIAL CARPET?

The life expectancy of commercial carpet is affected by several factors, from how it's used to the type of carpet you've selected. Shorter replacement cycles can hit your maintenance budget hard, and it's likely that a slightly more expensive carpet with a longer lifecycle will be better value for your money over its lifetime compared with a cheaper, less durable option.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE BEST LVT FOR NEW OFFICES

HOW TO CHOOSE THE BEST LVT FOR NEW OFFICES

One of the most common office complaints - especially in open-concept floor plans - concerns elevated noise levels. As such, hard flooring, such as ceramic or porcelain, has started to fall out of favor in wellness-conscious workplaces. Despite this, real wood flooring remains popular thanks to its high-end aesthetic and associations with biophilic design, but its price point is often prohibitive for many organizations.

As Seen at NeoCon: Workplace Design Trends

Although NeoCon 2017 is now behind us, so much of the visual stimuli stays with us for months. Here are five takeaways from the world’s leading commercial design trade show in Chicago:

REDEFINING THE ROLE OF FLOORING IN THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT AT NEOCON 2017

REDEFINING THE ROLE OF FLOORING IN THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT AT NEOCON 2017

A convergence of the real and the virtual, the haptic and the emotional, Encryption explores the increasingly blurred line between people and technology. The emerging aesthetic is both timeless and unmistakably modern—balancing maximalism and minimalism, and forming the foundation for commercial environments where technology enhances the form and function of our lives.

Education – Where We Learn Matters

Education – Where We Learn Matters

Students are very discerning these days. Their goals differ from those of the previous generations. And they bring a strong sense of community, both local and global. To attract and inspire a new generation of students requires engaging environments that stimulate new connections and create the best conditions for learning and innovating.

Take the floor: Office flooring special

Take the floor: Office flooring special

When looking for an on-the-money description of something bland, corporate and erring on the naff side, office flooring used to be up there with the biggies. But those days are gone. Flooring is now where you will see some of the most innovative materials and design aspects of the most creative of workspaces. No longer there just to hide coffee spillages and contend with high footfall (although it still does both of these), office flooring is now a useful tool in brand-carrying, defining areas with different functions – or zoning – and also playing an important part in employees’ wellbeing.
